Workout SNAPSHOT

The 60min class at RAW Coffee Brazil blends functional strength and conditioning seamlessly. The setup supports focused small‑group training and coaching.

The session begins with an activation and mobility warm‑up to properly engage the body and prepare the nervous system for the workout ahead. From there you move through structured timed blocks (such as alternating wall‑balls and toes‑to‑bar) with functional strength and occasional cardio elements woven in.

Each class shifts its focus – some days skewed towards upper‑body, others towards lower – so the routine stays balanced and allows for daily training sessions.

Coaching is top‑notch: movements are clearly explained, form is monitored and you may be encouraged to increase intensity. The session wraps up with a cool‑down stretch to support recovery.

THE FULL SCOOP

RAW studio’s 60min class blends functional strength and conditioning. We’ve only visited their smaller studio in L’Olivereta which may be compact in space but is fully equipped and offers small-group sessions where each participant truly receives focused attention

The session starts with a five-minute activation and mobility warm-up. You’ll typically use light weights or a 5 kg plate to engage the joints and muscle groups you’ll be using for the rest of the class. It’s a smart way to wake up the body, to fire up your nervous system and to familiarise you with the movement patterns ahead, preparing you for what’s coming rather than plunging you in cold.

From there you transition into two to three blocks of work, each structured and time-capped, usually employing formats like EMOM (Every Minute On the Minute) or AMRAP (As Many Rounds As Possible). A block could look like this:

  • 1min to complete 15-20 wall balls
  • 1min to complete 10-15 toes-to-bar
  • repeated for 6 rounds, i.e. 12min in total, before advancing to the next block.

As you move through the workout blocks you’ll engage in functional strength exercises and occasionally cardio elements like burpees, a rower or air-bike sprints. This creates a workout that’s designed for building muscle and strength, while also pushing your endurance.

The focus of each session shifts depending on the day – sometimes skewed toward upper body strength, other times more lower-body, so you can attend consistently without putting too much strain on one muscle group only.

The coaching is another major plus. then closely monitors everyone’s form, offering corrections and nudging you to increase weight or intensity when you’re handling things (too) well. That level of individual care, especially in this kind of heavier-weight and functional training environment, adds real value.

The session ends with a  cool-down stretch period, making sure you facilitate recovery and enhance elasticity in your muscles.

Because class size is kept small, the atmosphere is intimate but still energised. You work alongside others and the community is friendly and welcoming.

Our practical tip is to bring workout gloves or a grip‐aid because the workout demands grip strength. The studio does provide flaps if needed as well.
