F45 is a workout concept with several locations around the world – Cairo is one of the cities that has 3 studios. We visited the New Cairo location, situated on the lower level of the O1 mall. Just walk all the way to the right and you will find it on your right hand side.
As the name suggests, classes will run 45min – with the exception of NoHo which runs for an hour. Classes run daily with varying formats with the schedule updated regularly through their app. Each day has a different focus but all classes will be the same on a given day. A strength day will be followed by a hybrid training day with cardio elements, so you get a balanced mix across the week.
The gym is fully equipped with everything you’d expect from an F45 setup: kettlebells, dumbbells, barbells, sleds, bikes, skiergs, medicine balls, etc. Before class starts, the coaches walk the group through the workout format, demonstrating each movement and station flow logic. It’s essentially always a circuit format but varies in what this looks like. E.g. NoHo would be 18 stations that you have to work through twice, with more time spend at each station during your first round and less during your second. Other formats might make you repeat each exercise twice before moving on to the next, rotating through several pods.
Each workout station is clearly marked with numbers and you’ll see screens demonstrating each movement – super helpful if you ever forget what comes next. A on-screen timer will show how much time you’ve got left and a beep will indicate breaks and the start of the next exercise.
Warm-ups are short but effective, getting you moving and primed for what’s ahead. These are also shown on screen. Once the timer starts, it’s go-time — the sessions are structured into rounds or circuits with a mix of work and rest intervals. Expect combinations like kettlebell swings, dumbbell presses, box step-ups, wall balls, assault bike sprints, core work, and sled pushes depending on the day’s program. The screens help you stay on track, while the coaches circulate to correct form and give you that extra push when needed.
The vibe is upbeat, friendly, and team-oriented. Music is loud, the energy is high, and you’re encouraged to work at your own pace while still feeling part of a group effort. It’s suitable for a range of fitness levels, though total beginners may appreciate a bit of patience during the first few sessions while getting used to the format. Every workout finishes with a cool-down stretch to bring your heart rate back down.
It’s a great place to meet people, as the team-based layout naturally creates a social atmosphere without feeling intimidating.
